⊹ DEAD DOVE: Do Not Eat is a tag/warning used to indicate that a work contains dark, disturbing, or taboo content that is explicitly presented and not subverted/sanitized. What you see is what you get — and the creator is not inviting moral debate. It’s a warning to the reader that if they proceed, they are consenting to encounter exactly what was tagged.aka: THE DOVE IS FUCKING DEAD

[The phrase originates from a joke in Arrested Development, where a character opens a paper bag labeled “DEAD DOVE: Do Not Eat” and, upon seeing the dead dove inside, says, “I don’t know what I expected.”]

⊹ Following the dates and prompts on the prompts list, you may create any DEAD DOVE: Do Not Eat work that you dream up. Works may be fanfiction, fanart, video edits, and more.

⊹ Feel free to create works derived from prior works (ex: adding a new chapter or sequel), but you cannot repost an already published piece. Submissions must be new works created specifically for this event.

⊹ 18+ ONLY. This event runs on the honor system — We can’t verify everyone’s age, but we will enforce the rule. If it’s discovered that a minor has posted or submitted NSFW/Dead Dove work, their content will not be shared and will be removed from the collection. No exceptions.

⊹ This is a pro-fiction event. If it’s dark, weird, toxic, disturbing, or transgressive, it belongs here. No subject matter is barred. Be as freaky and fucked up as your heart desires.

⊹ All Archive Warnings are allowed, including CNTW. Just make sure you tag your work appropriately.

⊹ Late works will be accepted for up to 2 weeks.

⊹ Late days are allowed (e.g. posting day 3 on day 7) but not the other way around.

☠︎︎ If there are no content restrictions, is there anything that is not allowed?

⊹ If it’s taboo, toxic, or disturbing, it’s welcome. If it’s SFW, purely fluffy, or could run on daytime TV, it’s not. “Everything’s allowed” means you can go as fucked up as you want, but you can’t submit non-Dead Dove works.

⊹ NO ANTIS. This is not the place for morally policing ships or harassing/doxxing creators. If you post anti-content, attack other people’s work, or try to derail the event/submissions, your content will be removed and you’ll be banned, blocked, and reported.If you see anything that violates these rules, please DM us. Do not engage publicly with the offender. We as the mods will investigate and take action if needed.

⊹ Finally: No Dazai-bashing.This is not to censor anyone, but this a curation choice as the main mod of this event who loves Dazai with my whole entire heart and resonates with him deeply.You can still write Dazai being harmed, monstrous, cruel, or complicit in bad acts (god knows I love doing it). I just don’t want the event used as a venue to publicly trash him. That said: posts whose purpose is to deride, mock, or harass Dazai /his fans are not welcome and I will delete them.Thank you for understanding I cant wait to gut some doves!
